BarPulse (“we”, “us”), a product of MVLabs LLC, is built to be private by default. This policy explains what we collect and what we deliberately do not.
You do not create an account with an email, phone number, or real name. When you first open the app we create an anonymous account tied only to your device. You choose a handle (which always ends in _anon) and an avatar. We never ask for, collect, or store your real identity.
Location is optional and used only while the app is in the foreground, to show nearby venues and distances. The app works without it. We do not track your location in the background and do not store a history of your movements.
To keep the community safe and to protect venue staff, submitted notes are screened for personal information (such as naming individuals or sharing contact details) and abusive content. Content that violates our rules may be withheld or removed.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. See our Data Deletion page for details, including how to request deletion if you can no longer access the app.
BarPulse is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to children.
